to TEDxAhmedabad
Amazing to see 22 people on this group. Atleast I wasn't expecting
this group to grow so fast.
I'd like to update all of you on the progress made so far on
TEDxAhmedabad..
We have an Advisor on board, or rather two. But one of them doesn't
want his name mentioned on the website or anywhere else, so we shall
not talk about him.
Sudhir Sharma, an NID Alumnus has joined us as an advisor and has also
agreed to talk at the event. He is the Founder of Elephant Designs,
but is no more with the same company.
We also have a venue in place now. Riverside School has agreed to host
us for a day.
We would be happy to get suggestions from you guys about possible
venues in Ahmedabad for a day long event like TEDx. We are essentially
looking for places with enough open areas and freedom to walk around
and have discussions freely. Ideally not an Auditorium, but any open
space..
Riverside being slightly out of the city, might become an issue for a
few people.
Also, introducing Puneet. I am not sure if you guys are already aware,
but Puneet is a co-host in this event. He is helping me make this
happen. He comes from a Design Background and until last night was
working with Cognizant in Pune :)
The theme of TEDxAhmedabad is Designing Management. I am not sure how
many of you here follow the concept or have been a part of this.
Designing Management is essentially an approach whereby organisations
make design relevant decisions.
The idea came up from the existence of the best Design School and the
best Management school in Ahmedabad, but absolutely no collaborations.
We will also be trying to put up workshops to make this concept easier
to understand and a whole lot of sessions so as to simulate
discussions around this.
We can all meet up offline to discuss ideas and thoughts you guys
might have.. so as to make this event an eventful event of the year :)
Look forward to responses to this..
Have a lovely week ahead
