As for the best source for last minute:

That is why I come up with tax2.xlsm excel macro.

This macro will pull automatically pull the list from www.publicans.com and break it down to excel format (one line for each property), for easy sorting.

www.publicans.com is one of the approved public source of list fro Harris.

List of Sale Properties:

"A publication of all properties set for sale can be purchased from Daily Court Review or Foreclosure Listing Service. Also, the websites of delinquent tax attorneys Linebarger Goggan Blair and Sampson, at www.publicans.com, or Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins & Mott, at www.pbfcm.com, contain lists of the properties set for tax sale by the taxing units they represent."

Daily Court Review will churns out periodic newsletter which can be obtain in PDF format. To me this means somebody has to be an editor to put the list together in the nice newsletter format and it takes time. The speed of information depend on how frequent the newsletter being publish. Not real-time.

Not sure if Daily Court Review  is free.

www,pbfcm.com also churns out PDF list. Free. But same thing, somebody has to format the tax information nicely into PDF list. In the 2nd last meeting at Brenda's house I brought list from www.pbfcm.com and I thought I like it, but it turns out inferior compare to the next below:

www.publicans.com has online list on the website. Free. It does not require editor to work on layout and generate nice PDF format. Now I am not website programmer whiz but I think it is programmed to automatically pull from county computer and display it on website. All with minimum or no human interaction, which makes it real time.

As I have seen the www.publicans.com represent all 8 precinct of Harris county.

It is with this understanding, I choose www.publicans.com, then proceed with building excel macro of tax2.xlsm

All you need to do is open this file, enable the macro, choose the type of sale, which county, which precinct, and hit "BEGIN"

In less than 30 second you will have list of latest property, Excel formatted.

You can do this anytime 24 hours, and I think you will always get the latest list as it pulls directly from website.

Brenda could go over with Bruce on how to use this macro, just don't forget to have internet access :)

Bruce wants to know if you might be willing to research the best source to access the most up to date tax deed list as we get closer to the deadline. That is to say, what is the best/cheapest way to get the latest and most COMPLETE list. Is there another on-line source or just the county office which costs $ to buy list.

It is just that the list from publicans has different properties that never appeared on the county list, so wondering why and if there is another source that may be more accurate.

Will check with county when there.
