Hi everybody,
Welcome our newest member, Yolanda, to the team! She is a porter and will be learning the line next week.
We are now doing decaf in the small metal urn and only brewing half batches at a time. This means we are only weighing out the decaf to 4.1oz. Just make sure to switch to "half brew" and have it brewed only on the right side of the machine. The left side can not half brew.
The oven has been fixed. However, the guy fixing it noticed that our gas is not regulated. Which means there is copious amounts of gas going into the oven. We will be getting this fixed ASAP but until then kitchen crew please try and be extra cautious when cooking things in the oven. We don't want another oven fire between now and when we get the gas fixed.
We are going back to pre-made veggie burgers. They are vegetarian, not vegan, and not gluten free. We made the switch back because we are going through lots of veggies burger and do not have enough time or enough man(lady)power to make them.
Since we have a few new people I would just like to talk about how requesting time off works. We will be having a set schedule starting within the next week or two. If you would like time off or a shift switched it is your responsibility to get coverage. Please, please, please do not book a flight or make plans without first making sure you are covered. We can call up any of the previous employees and ask them to cover for us. If all else fails I do have someone lined up who has experience with very open availability who can become our go-to cover person.
We as a team need to get better at closing down. I understand we all want to get out of here as soon as we can but lets make sure this place is properly cleaned first. The low boys and metro-shelves should be pulled out so they can be swept and mopped under. Especially where the drink machine is. The sugary drinks will attract rodents and bugs and EW!
