Apache 207's song "Kein Problem" is a raw and unapologetic portrayal of life in the streets, blending bravado with a sense of resilience. The lyrics are filled with defiance and a strong sense of identity, as Apache 207 addresses his critics and adversaries. He juxtaposes his tough exterior with moments of vulnerability, particularly in his interactions with his mother, highlighting the duality of his existence.

The song opens with Apache 207 calling out those who talk big but lack authenticity. He positions himself as a gangster who also enjoys dancing, a metaphor for his ability to navigate different aspects of life with ease. The references to Mannheim and Ludwigshafen ground the song in a specific cultural and geographical context, emphasizing his roots and the environment that shaped him. The recurring theme of cruising in luxury cars at night underscores a sense of freedom and control over his domain.

A significant part of the song revolves around Apache 207's relationship with his mother. He reassures her that his lifestyle, though fraught with challenges, is something he has chosen and can handle. This dialogue adds depth to his character, showing that beneath the bravado, there is a son who seeks his mother's understanding and acceptance. The repeated phrase "aber kein Problem" (but no problem) serves as a mantra of resilience, reinforcing his ability to manage whatever comes his way.

The song also touches on themes of fame and social media, with Apache 207 acknowledging his public persona and the attention it garners. He dismisses superficial relationships and emphasizes his focus on business and personal growth. The reference to Miroslav Klose, a renowned German footballer, further cements his status as a formidable figure in the German rap scene. Overall, "Kein Problem" is a powerful statement of self-assurance and adaptability, capturing the essence of Apache 207's journey and the world he inhabits.

I am a touring entertainer on the casino circuits. For years, I've told my guitar player that there are words to this song, but could never find a copy to prove it. Now I finally can. Excellent job on the slide show. Thx. Danny

Apache was written by Jerry Lordan. Lordan had given the song to Bert Weedon to record but he didn't like Weedon's version. Jerry liked a British group named The Shadows so he played the song for them. The Shadows recorded it and their version was a hit. It used to be difficult for British performers to get air time in the U.S. so when a song was a hit in Britain, it was re-recorded by an American and released in the U.S. Apache was covered by the Ventures, the Safari's and others.

(Maureen712 contributed this whole posting and video on You Tube).

Thank you both for sharing. It's true that many pop song enthusiasts are not aware of this version by Sonny James.

I am still learning too. Yes, he does sound like Frankie Laine although I thought he was Perry Como :)

Like all of you, I was very surprised indeed to hear the vocal version of the Apache for the first time in my life !! Andy, how did you suddenly post this and not earlier ? Most of us or rather of all, have been listening to the instrumental version by the great Shadows in the early sixties. You really beat of us, eh ? I mean many thanks to you. Also, I concur with Maureen712 that it was difficult for some British artistes' hits to be accepted by the US around 1960/70, Cliff Richard included. It was the Ventures (US group) who re-recorded the Apache with a different beat.

Thanks FL for your interest in the posting. You are right; I should have posted this information earlier but I thought many 60s pop song lovers would have known about it earlier.

Regarding UK artistes, it is true that even up till today Cliff Richard is not popular in the US.

Hi Andy,

wow...first time I'm listening to the lyrics of the famed Apache instrumental hit. Had all along thought that it was a purely instrumental composition. Thanks for posting it on your blog and a big thank you to contributor Maureen712 as well.

Hi Andy. A few years ago while at SRC, I heard the vocal version of Apache for the first time. It was the birthday of my friend, Jerry Lee, a public accountant. Each year to celebrate his birthday he would have his birthday party at SRC and his band would entertain through the night. I was not aware that there was a vocal version of Apache until that night. We are all learning something new all the time!

While the Shads version of Apache is more vibrant and is the version most of us are accustomed to, the version by The Ventures, to me, seems to have more depth and a certain "feel" to it. The Apaches were the true Americans, the sons of the soil and The Ventures being an all American outfit were able to interpret the piece, for lack of a better term, in a more American style.

The Apaches were a proud people and were a warrior tribe. Led by their greatest chief, they were able to win many battles against West Point trained Calvary officers. That great leader was of course Geronimo. By coincidence, Geronimo, was another big hit by The Shads.

For many years, Marlon Brando, tried to make a movie based on the novel, I Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee. He was totally against the way the American Indians were portrayed in Western movies and he wanted people to know how the Whites mistreated the native Americans when they started to arrive in the "New World". He was unsuccessful in his attempts as no banks were prepared to finance the production of the movie. To make a personal statement, when Marlon Brando won an Oscar for The Godfather he sent an Indian girl to accept the Oscar on his behalf. Many years later the movie was eventually made as a TV special but not as a movie for theatrical release. This would translate into the probability that there were still budget constraints, as making a TV movie is considerably cheaper.

As always, many thanks to Andy for his untiring passion to keep all things 60's alive!

All the best to you Andy!

Cheers!

I have spent many years looking for the song with the lyrics again, I discovered it when I was a teenage but it was so hard for me trying to remember part of the lyrics or who played it. Thank you, I really love this song, its a poem to my soul... Makes me cry

Apache 207 - Arena Tour 2024
Apache 207's music combines a wide variety of genres such as R'n'B, Eurodance, 80s pop and hip-hop. The two-meter man with a long mane and sunglasses clearly stands for German rap and pop culture like no other. Within a very short space of time, he took over the German music market from Ludwigshafen with his songs and sold out arenas within minutes. His distinctive voice has left its mark on the hearts of an entire generation. No-one else reproduces so authentically what he experiences on the streets and in life. With a clear vision, he and his team have been marching through Germany's music scene since 2018 in a unique and uncompromising way. They all give their all right from the start, financing his videos with returnable bottles and taking time off work to be on set.

What starts on YouTube quickly spreads like wildfire. The vision, the unusual style, the topics away from weapons, drugs and sex hit the mark with the German audience. Apache wins 27x gold, 7x platinum and 1x diamond with his songs. The over 2 billion streams make it clear that his music does not go with the zeitgeist, it creates and changes it. Apache 207 doesn't chase after trends, doesn't allow himself or his music to be limited, doesn't see himself in competition with any rival. He follows his intuition and always makes the right decision at the right time. His music, his videos and his lyrics are his art, each of his songs a piece cut from him.

The EP "Platte" is the start of an incomparable career path. The single "Roller" swept across Germany like a steamroller in 2019. The mega-hit is playing on every corner, in every club and on every radio station. His fanbase is growing rapidly and is as diverse as the country itself. Apache 207 is on everyone's lips. It is clear that he will not rest on his laurels. He is hungry for more, for progress, for sharing his art and his voice with the world. The first album "Treppenhaus" reaches number 1 in the album charts. It is the logical conclusion of an artist who has evolved, who wants to say even more and let his music speak for itself. With "2sad2disco" and the accompanying videos, whose scripts he writes himself, the artist releases an album a year later that is both more melancholy and even more disco. Above all, it is the expression of his creative realization, in which he gives free rein to his voice, once again breaking through clichs and making a statement with his extraordinary style: It is impossible to imagine the German music scene without Apache. He is here to stay.

In 2022, Apache 207 releases his Amazon Prime documentary "Apache bleibt gleich". For the first time, he allows a glimpse into his world and gets a little closer to his fans. Then, after more than two years of coronavirus, three postponements and countless rehearsals, he is finally able to realize his sold-out tour. He exceeds the immense trust of his fans and the associated high expectations without exception. Despite all the hustle and bustle, the fame and the money, Apache knows what it's all about in the end - delivering live in front of his fans, because this is where the wheat is separated from the chaff. The pressure is enormous, and Apache 207 is his own biggest critic. Together with his team, he brings a show to the stage that is unparalleled in German hip-hop. The show outlines the path through his life and career. Every second is full of energy, approachable, authentic and is celebrated enthusiastically by the fans.
