Probably a long shot, but does anybody know if the disk data of one of these has been dumped? I can't get my hands on one, but I'd like to peek through the data and see what's on the disk.

Just for the record, I shoot tanks for exercise a couple times a week on my stepper.  My best score is 138 in 30 minutes and my typical score is 107, which is pretty good for me.  Three cheers for tectrixvr!!!!!

Thanks for the reply!
I should have been more clear. I'm trying to find a hard drive dump of the unit itself.
Just as a hobby of old computers and whatnot.

Ah. We shipped the machines without hard drives (booting from the CD). If there's a hard drive in yours, it must have been added later! -T

Ah, good to know!
Do you know if its possible to launch the exe files on a standard windows machine? (not bike)
I'm getting the error io_LoadWorld(): can't open one

Would this be the "One" file inside each of the language folders? Does it need to be pointed to with a parameter?
I'm sorry. I loved the Textrix Bike when I was a kid and was never able to get my hands on one. Just wanted to goof around with it for nostalgia sake!

Yes that's it -- the .exe files are compiled for DOS and Windows was able to run them under emulation at some point, but I haven't tried it in years, and it may have been back in the Windows 95 era!

Anyway the exe's are designed to run in test mode using an old-style PC joystick input, or mouse. I seem to recall that you need to pass the input mode as a parameter, like:

test joy  # to run with a joystick
test mouse  # to run with mouse input
test climber  # to run on hardware

If I don't put anything after test I do get "Unknown device id 0. Using JOY"
if I do test joy I don't see that message. So that parameter IS in fact working! Memory serves you well :)

I am still not sure how to point to the One file though. I'm trying to guess what the parameter might be. I'm guessing you have to tell it which langage folder to look into for the ONE file.

Not too bothered by the CD Audio at the moment. I shall continue trying to figure it out :)

Nevermind! I got it!

Apparently I just had to take the files from one of the language folders and dump them in the program's root folder. Now I can explore Sweeney Town once again.

Thanks for your help!
