Bodyslideworked fine before, the only thing I did was build a body to the overwrite folder, and that was a few days ago. Now it shows this message everytime, and this means it won't work correctly right?
I've tried running the program with admin permissions, but no dice. I have Skyrim and everything installed where admin permissions shouldn't be a problem. I also tried setting the programs to be run as admin automatically, but then they don't even launch from Mod Organizer 2. Maybe there is a new version I HAVE to update? I wanted to hold off until most of my other mods are ready for updating.
Do you run bodyslide from Vortex or some other mod manager, or do you run from a dedicated shortcut direct to bodyslide? If the former, (from a manager) there may be an issue in your mod manger configuration.
Sorry for the necro but had this issue and it was driving me nuts. Found out that it happened because I switched PC. It was on the same exact external drive but on my old pc it had drive E as its letter and on my new one it had D. It was easy to miss as everything else was exact so for anyone else who possibly stumbles on this issue, this is an option.
Ran into this issue using Mod Organizer 2. I moved MO2 to a new SSD, and everything broke. The above post is a bit vague, so if you run into this issue, here's what to do.
In MO2, click the "settings" button in the top-left (the crossed wrench/screwdriver icon). Make sure that all your downloads/mods/etc all point to the correct location.
Edit your executables to make sure that MO2 is looking for your bodyslide x64.exe in the correct location. BUT YOU'RE NOT DONE YET.
Run bodyslide, whereupon you will encounter the error. That's fine, close it. In the bottom-right of bodyslide there is a 'Settings' button. You now have to change bodyslide's game path data point to the data folder. Then close bodyslide and reopen it, and it worked for me, I hope this saves you a lot of time and you don't do what I did and pull your hair out convinced it's a windows drive permissions issue.
In bodyslide, I can see the list of the CBBE body and armor meshes. However, there are no textures registering. When I look through MO, I can see the texture drop-down under data - Everything is in there. I'm confident that it is a simple issue of not finding the correct path (I've noticed MO can screw with data paths).
Look, I know how bodyslide works, been using it for over a year when I was using Nexus Mod Manager. Since doing a fresh install over to Mod Organizer, I can't get it to cooperate. I've done all the steps that should have filled all of the bodyslide criteria, however it can not detect textures.
I used to have the exact same problem you're encountering when I switched to MO, so I know how you're feeling. It used to drive me batty. Somewhere in the past year or two I managed to get it working properly, but my problem here is that I don't recall exactly what fixed it, so I can't tell you *this thing* is what you're missing. I think it will come down to one of two things though:
First, where do you have MO and Skyrim installed? When I used NMM, I had Skyrim (and Steam) in C:\Program Files\, which was the default for Steam's installer. I found that this does not work well with MO because Windows' permissions system does a lot to protect that folder. This creates problems with BodySlide, and also other programs like FNIS, when it tries to write files. Moving Steam to C:\Games\Steam\ solved a lot of issues there. Likewise, I have MO in C:\Games\Mod Organizer\ to avoid permissions issues. I don't know if the permissions problems might also impact reading the texture files inside BodySlide. So this might not be your solution.
Second, just to confirm for the sake of not overlooking the obvious: are you using the latest version of BodySlide? As opposed to, say, using an older version you already had to avoid downloading it again. At one point, I honestly thought the texture problem might have been a bug in an older version of the program that had been fixed.
This is the filepath that I am using for bodyslide. 2 TB HDD (E:) > Steam > steamapps > common > Skyrim > Mod Organizer > mods > BodySlide. I have a SSD for Windows and only a few select OS related things on there. Everything else is on my 2nd 2 TB drive. So, it should all be in the "same area".
And yea, I got the most recent version. When I decided I was going to start fresh, I wanted to make sure it was as fresh as I could. I took screenshots of my mod lists from NMM before I trashed it, so I could find the mods again on Nexus and re-download the most recent versions.
I'm having the same issue and it's driving me bat s#*! crazy.
I too am very knowledgable when it comes to Bodyslide and MO. But for some reason I am not showing any Skyrim OUtfits or Armors in Bodyslide, and my changes to nude body's are not showing in game. I don't know what the hell is going on. MO is on the same SSD as my game files are. And Bodyslide works fine and dandy for SSE and CBBE. It's just not working for Oldrim and UNP.
I Guess I'm going to go try CBBE.... I don't know... f*#@.....
I have both Fallout 4 and Skyrim SE installed via steam. I originally installed and used Bodyslide with Fallout 4. I am now attempting to use Bodyslide with SSE, but cannot seem to switch between games. I tried while running Bodyslide from the Fallout directory, and then again from the SSE directory, with the same result. No matter which instance I open, I only see the Fallout 4 outfits and presets. Even after changing the Target Game to SSE in the settings, refreshing outfits and groups, and restarting the application, I still only ever see the items from the Fallout directory.
Nevermind. I found the solution. The problem was that Vortex's "open in" option when adding a tool on the Dashboard. Because I originally tried using the instance installed in the Fallout directory, it kept that as the "open in" location, even after I updated the exe location. I just had to update that to point back to SSE's directory, and all is working as expected.
I am not sure were to ask, but I like to be able to add SKUE64,body slide,Fins,Skui. I love to be able to do more in my games. I have read watch the videos on how to add it in. I even got some to work for a very small time. before I get the error messages and then try to fix them and it just gets all messed up. from the time vortex came out. I have not been able to get any of this to work right or installed without a problem. I have installed the game and vortex added it all back in. deleted every file i could find. before redoing it and still I can't even get one to work. like i said I have followed the steps and the vidios to the t and i just seem to go round in circles. So if there is anyone who has a way i can talk to while doing it or something better. I so love to have it work. I don,t mess with files very much. I tend to do the wrong thing. Just because I am not familiar with it. Plus not all PC are the same. So if you have time and the patients to help me out. I would be very grateful. as far as talking one on one. any way you like to do it would be fin. just not video. don't have it anyway and no mic. So let me know. Just someone wanting to get it right and not having to start over. Plus if they have Cyberpunk out next. If they have mods I want to make sure things are good. thank you for your time.
I was having same problem. Super easy fix. In vortex when you "add the tool," make sure its the Bodyslide associated with Skyrim, and not Fallout. When you open the directory to add bodyslide as a tool, go to your Skyrim local files, from there just search "Bodyslide" and select "Bodyslide x64" when it comes up. Well... for me it is Bodyslide x64. Tbh i have no idea what the diff is between the x64 and the non x64 lol. I realize I'm way late, but if i see an issue unresolved i feel like i should respond anyway since i understood the solution. Hope this helps, sorry if i was unclear.
