This thing is made by a company called 'bookarc'

It comes with two rubber padded slots, one matching the 2008 MBP and a narrower one matching the first couple unibody models.

Probably fits older MacBooks as well.

Specifically does NOT fit 2015 MBP's, slots are too wide.

It is a very chi-chi accessory to hold your MBP when you have your cordless mouse and keyboard sitting in front of your 27" display and want to use your MBP in clam-shell mode.

Although it is not obvious from the pic, there is cable management molded into the rubber sleeves as well.

The box comes close to matching the sleekness of the oriental/industrial design associated with Apple product packaging.

I should probably get paid for just letting people gaze on this excessive bit of kit that I admit I got years ago.

P.S. Even after my cynical comments, I can neither confirm nor deny if I bought a new one for my new MBP.
