So who's up for staying indoors and smelling ABS fumes? :-)

I've got reversal working well on my stepper extruder, and a few other
trick to show off.

I'd be up for something Sunday, I think. At the Splat, or where? I have some other things that I could do simultaneously in the space.

No time for anything but work and dancing for me.

I'd say I'll be there 3-ish, for a couple of hours.

Sorry I missed you. I found out at lunch time that I'd be going to see
King's Speech yesterday.

I did manage to print an SAE Prusa this weekend. Now it's just a simple
matter of getting rods, threaded and smooth, motors, bolts, nuts, belts
plate aluminum and a partridge in a pear tree and I'll have a Mendel.

Though I do like the look of the Ultimaker.

Anyone see the improvements to the DLP Resin Printer that got posted?

Video is quite nice too:

I *do* have an old DLP projector I'm hanging onto just in case this is a doable
project in the near future.

That is bad ass.

How much does the material cost?

According to the SF stats, (I have no idea how or where that is setup)
the biggest plate cost about $6.50 and that is accounting for machine
time. There are 5 plates. 2 were 6 hour prints 4 were 2 hour prints.

Sorry, He mentioned getting some resin way back
that was $200 per kg and said it was probably cheaper
if you lived in the US. I don't know if he's got a
cheaper solution now. Seems like for large items
its about as fast as a MB, but it's not affected
by complexity of the model since it cures a whole
layer at a time. So the machine sort of runs in
layers per second/minute and it doesn't matter much
how full each layer is.

Pretty nice. Now work on that resin price. And open source
the plans. On the pronto.
