Mirroring a really nice post I've just read on lainchan.
For 60 years the entire modern world has been building a tower of babel of an incomprehensible magnitude.
At some point this ferverous death march will end. As of now we have no path on how technology will be rebuilt. There is no way to bootstrap semiconductor technology yet. Hell, 90% of the older, yet still active SaaS companies will die if they lost all of their source code, with no way to restore it (Adobe, Windows, etc).

How would we, as a society, rebuild this kind of technology from scratch?
What are your opinions on this? What would you do to fix it?
