I looked back over the archives and we've fallen pretty silent in 2018.  I wondered if there would be enthusiasm for having a meetup in spring - I'd be happy to lead the planning on something if folks are interested.  Thoughts?

[ A side note - I've been asked by a couple of folks if I'm still in STL.  I work for the Internet Archive but live in St. Louis because no one can afford to live in the Bay area. Yay housing prices in the midwest! ]

Absolutely.   Do we need a host and agenda, or would you like to do something more informal?

We could certainly debrief on our new website and the integration of collections that we've done.  It's been up for a year now, and there are a lot of moving pieces to it.

I would be up for it and interested in hearing more about what others are doing.  We've got a new person here, Aaron Collie, and I'd love to introduce him to the group.  Of course we could host it here, but sometimes getting downtown is such a pain that it isn't worth the coffee I'd put out.    :  )

If we have it after the 3rd week of April, David Henry and I could report on DPLAFest.

All - A quick update: I’ve chatted with Emily & Katrina and we actually thought that two sessions would work: 1) a more casual, meetup-y, no programming event at a local watering hole in late Jan/early Feb, and then 2) a more organized event with time for people to give project updates, etc., after DPLAfest.

I’ll start planning the meetup after the first of the year. If there’s anyone who would like to help organize, give me a shout at cfree...@gmail.com or 314-518-2412.

Best of the new year to all,

Chris
