So I have a file where I've been collecting links and quotes which I'm going to put up online and thought tumblr would be a good place for that, so I set this up:

If anyone would like to be added as an author to contribute stuff just let me know.

I'd be interested, provided you let me know if I'm putting up stuff
that's not what you're looking for.

Here's a nice collection of links from Technomadia:

I promise I'll let you know, but I think anything in the scope of possessions, stuff, minimalism, travel, new tech that enables the above, etc will all fit.

Sean, i'd also be interested in authoring the tumblr, too.  We should also enable submissions through the tumblr, whereas a few authors could review and post through the week.

Two pertinent links I found today:

Thin-Bike on EcoVelo; http://urbanvelo.org/the-thinbike/

Interesting Comment string on 'Tech-Savvy Minimalism' on the Unclutter Blog; http://unclutterer.com/2010/08/18/trend-spotting-tech-savvy-minimalism/

Great Justin, you are all set. And submissions are enabled too. I'm writing a post for BoingBoing about all of this right now, so I suspect we'll get a bunch of new folks looking around pretty shortly..

Hi.

I just wanted to introduce myself to the group here. Although I don't
travel much, I do work in a mobile environment using cellular data
links as often as wifi and more often than landlines. Remember those?

I'm trying to find a way to offload a lot of my stuff and close out a
storage space filled with technology. Life is getting simple, but my
stuff isn't helping.

So I can't wait!

I am very interested in being added as an author/contributor. I am
currently in the process of getting rid of the things that I no longer
need/use/care about. The one thing I have found is a really value the
things I've received that people have made for me, e.g. my Doctor Who
scarf, a wash cloth, art, a crochet blanket, etc., or things that are
useful heirlooms, e.g. cast iron skillet, an old timer jack knife,
etc.

I recently had a breakup in my long term relationship. When I moved I
found it was mostly my stuff that was given away, sold, trashed when
we had moved in together. As a result I have very little. It was never
a problem for me, though. I thought I was weird for being so blasé
about my lack of stuff, and then I found sites like Zen Habits,
mnmlist and The Cult of Less.

I don't know if this lifestyle hacking is the be all, end all, but it
is very exciting. Even if it isn't going to work, all I'm doing is
getting rid of stuff, and stuff can always be replaced.
