WorldQuant Summer Training Program

Based on the success of last year’s Quantitative Research Summer Training Program, we would like to invite applicants for the 2017 program.

Our program offers distinctive hands-on experience in developing mathematical or quantitative models using our web-based stock simulation platform (Websim). With over 1300 registrations, 62 students across various schools in India qualified for the 2016 Summer Training Program to become Research Consultants with WorldQuant.

Below are a few key highlights of the Summer Training Program:

Ø Regular online training sessions;

Ø Mentoring and guidance from experienced quantitative researchers;

Ø Eligible participants have the potential of being considered for a Research Consultant opportunity at the end of program, which may include a one-time special stipend of up to 1,00,000 INR;

Ø Certificate from WorldQuant.

Our Summer Training Program is designed to offer insight into the quantitative model building space. The virtual training program is a unique learning opportunity within the investment management industry. It is a tailored program that combines virtual training and workshop sessions in developing alphas/trading models.

Your summer training will start with a kick-off webinar session which will cover the training schedule, our expectations, monitoring of progress, logistics and closeout of the training program. You’ll have the opportunity to grow in knowledge, skills and confidence. The program will involve intensive and core work on the WebSim platform which will provide a concentrated and focused learning experience for all participants. If you show potential and demonstrate exceptional performance during your time with us, you may be offered a part-time Research Consultant position with us.

Outstanding Learning Opportunities:

Training classes / seminars about fundamentals of quantitative finance research, modeling and stock price movement prediction
Access to our market simulation tool to develop quantitative financial models

§ Analyze various types of financial market data

§ Learn the science of “predictive” quantitative modeling of financial markets

Participation Requirements:

Hold or working towards Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Finance or any other related field that is highly analytical and quantitative
1^st and 2^nd year students will be given preference
Have a strong interest in learning about worldwide financial markets

Register for a Websim account [https://websim.worldquantchallenge.com/en/cms/wqc/summerprograms/indiatraining] If you have already expressed interest through your institution’s placement office, please make sure you sign up for an account using the same email address. Please fill out your academic profile when applying for a new account.
On Websim, when prompted, please confirm your interest in being considered for the Summer Training Program.
Space in the program is limited, so selection of candidates for the program will be based on the applicant’s activity in Websim and academic achievement among other factors.

Training Program Duration: June 01 to July 31

Training Program Completion:

Trainees who attend all scheduled training sessions, complete assignments and build a score on Websim based on the alphas they submit will receive a completion certificate at the end of the training program.
In addition, we may offer Research Consultant positions to candidates who complete the training successfully, and a one-time special stipend may be awarded to outstanding performers upon becoming a Research Consultant.
Research Consultant offers are at our sole discretion and are subject to a background check and other applicable eligibility requirements.
