Hey everyone,
Just wanted to quickly let you know that the national gallery of victoria has started up a ning network for educators wanting to connect with and get more out of the NGV. You can join here -
http://ngv-schools.ning.com/
I just left this comment as part of one of the forums on the site - what do you think ?
I didn't attend that particular session, but would love to see some more
stuff happening at NGV for second language learning. It would be great
to expand the topics that LOTE teachers see as useful to their
classrooms. For example, just because an exhibit is on Japanese wood
block prints, or whatever, doesn't mean some work for a German or
Indonesian class couldn't be developed. It would be great for kids to
learn about French impressionists in Italian for example. Maybe this is
not the thread for this conversation - but just wanted to add an idea
for a future session perhaps... :-) Thanks!
Anyway, hope all is going well despite the end of year madness! I'm very happy that I'll be back in a LOTE classroom next year - starting a new Chinese program with Grades 3&4 at the school across the road from my house! Really looking forward to working with kids again. Lots of things to try out on them! :-)
Cheers,
Jess
