Faith (Belief) - Part IV

God sent messengers! The history of the word has seen many messengers who claimed that they were sent by God. Even before we question who the God he is referring to, people would start to worship, hail him as God. The western world had seen many such 'Jesus'es. The Hindu dominant Asia had seen many such 'Siva's and 'Vishnu's. Buddha too has incarnated many times in history. Nevertheless, God and demi-God status those messengers obtain out of mystic powers and public support. That could never be prevented by anyone.
Amid all criticism surrounding those pseudo-Gods and attacks on a few of them, it continues to grow. The crowd grows; support grows; worship and reverence growing in multiple folds.
Let me not be misunderstood. I am not blaming anyone in particular. I am just telling what I thought and over-heard from the same public. Yes, it is surprising to see two sections of people. One, that reveres whoever clad in white/saffron attire as 'Swami'ji. The second set of people who continue to ridicule, joke around the first set. I have seen both the groups.
Thus, we got many Swamijis since the groups warring with each other for power and money. They preach spirituality, religion, and mystic stories on God. Their language and style would mesmerise anyone who listens to them for a while. Maybe, that is the key for the success of a Swamiji.
Once, there were only very few Acharyas. They were the sole representatives of Hinduism just like Christianity had Pope. They did not indulge in such acts of magic and crowd-pulling tactics. Those who believed in God revered him as Gurus not messengers. People did not see them as Avatars (incarnations), rather, as masters of religious scriptures and vedic practices.
I believe that since the number of religious preachers and Gurus has increased, search for truth and God has become little more difficult these days.

இறைவனால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட தூதர்கள்!
தாங்கள் இறைவனால் அனுப்பப்பட்டவர்கள் என்று சொல்லும் பல தூதர்களை உலக வரலாறு கண்டிருக்கிறது. அவர் இறைவன் என்று யாரைக் குறிப்பிடுகிறார் என்று நாம் கேள்வி கேட்கும் முன்பே, மக்கள் அவரைக் கடவுள் என்று போற்றத் தொடங்குவார்கள். மேற்கத்திய உலகம் இதுபோன்ற பல 'இயேசு'களைப் பார்த்திருக்கிறது. இந்து மேலாதிக்க ஆசியா இது போன்ற பல 'சிவன்'களையும் 'விஷ்ணு'களையும் பார்த்திருக்கிறது. புத்தரும் வரலாற்றில் பலமுறை அவதாரம் எடுத்துள்ளார். ஆயினும்கூட, கடவுள் மற்றும் டெமி-கடவுள் அந்தஸ்தை அந்த தூதர்கள் மாய சக்திகள் மற்றும் பொது ஆதரவிலிருந்து பெறுகிறார்கள். அதை யாராலும் தடுக்க முடியாது.
அந்த போலிக் கடவுள்களைச் சுற்றியுள்ள அனைத்து விமர்சனங்களுக்கும் அவர்களில் ஒரு சிலரைத் தாக்குவதற்கும் மத்தியில், அது தொடர்ந்து வளர்ந்து வருகிறது. கூட்டம் பெருகும்; ஆதரவு வளரும்; வழிபாடு மற்றும் மரியாதை பல மடங்குகளில் வளரும்.
என்னை தவறாக புரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டாம். நான் குறிப்பாக யாரையும் குறை கூறவில்லை. நான் நினைத்ததையும் பொதுமக்களிடம் கேட்டதையும் தான் சொல்கிறேன். ஆம், உலகில் இரு பிரிவினரைப் பார்க்கும்போது ஆச்சரியமாக இருக்கிறது. வெள்ளை/காவி உடை அணிந்தவர்களை 'சுவாமி' என்று போற்றும் ஒரு கூட்டம். இந்த முதல் குழுவைச் சுற்றி தொடர்ந்து கேலி செய்யும் மற்றொரு கூட்டம். இரண்டு குழுக்களையும் பார்த்திருக்கிறேன்.
இவ்வாறு, அதிகாரத்திற்காகவும், பணத்திற்காகவும் குழுக்கள் ஒன்றுக்கொன்று சண்டையிட்டுக் கொள்வதால், நமக்குப் பல சுவாமிகள் கிடைத்தனர். அவர்கள் ஆன்மீகம், மதம் மற்றும் கடவுள் பற்றிய மாயக் கதைகளைப் போதிக்கிறார்கள். அவர்களின் மொழியும் நடையும் சிறிது நேரம் கேட்டால் கூட போதும். கேட்பவர் மெய்சிலிர்த்து போவார். ஒரு ஸ்வாமிஜியின் வெற்றிக்கு அதுவே முக்கிய காரணமாக இருக்கலாம்.
ஒரு காலத்தில், மிகக் குறைவான ஆச்சார்யர்கள் மட்டுமே இருந்தனர். கிறிஸ்தவ மதத்திற்கு போப் இருந்ததைப் போல அவர்கள் இந்து மதத்தின் ஒரே பிரதிநிதிகள். இத்தகைய மாயச் செயல்களிலும் கூட்டத்தை இழுக்கும் தந்திரங்களிலும் அவர்கள் ஈடுபடவில்லை. கடவுளை நம்பியவர்கள் அவரை தூதர்களாக அல்ல குருவாகவே போற்றினர். மக்கள் அவர்களை அவதாரங்களாகப் பார்க்கவில்லை, மாறாக, மத நூல்கள் மற்றும் வேத நடைமுறைகளில் தேர்ச்சி பெற்றவர்களாக இருந்தனர்.
மத போதகர்கள் மற்றும் மத குருமார்களின் எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரித்துள்ளதால், உண்மையையும் கடவுளையும் தேடுவது இந்த நாட்களில் கொஞ்சம் கடினமாகிவிட்டது என்று நினைக்கிறேன்.
