I suggest you find the cost for all of that asap. Some of the parts may be expensive

For rough estimates, check element14 they are a little pricy, but you should get a good idea as to the cost of the device.

Wireless power transmission(low efficiency) has been done in the ECE dept, but levitation hasnt been done in college.

I checked the cost of a few of the above parts in SP road. They are as follows.
All the parts on the site maynot be easily available. So you should look in to alternatives as well,if required.

What kind of opto couplers have you bought? Are they MOC 3041? from Motorola?

On the input side, they can be run by 5V with a current limiting resistor. On the other side, it can take about a hundred volts or more I think. Just download the data sheet if you wanna know. What I found useful about these particular ones is that they have triac outputs, so the current can be bidirectional.

Hey, I will be going to blore in the next weekend and planned to visit SP road then.
Will be making the electromagnet bit and that needs :
enameled copper wire - 30m : 240/-
a suitable core, hoping a relative permeability of atleast 100, dia 6cm
and 9 more magnets than what paksa has bought already - 18/- per magnet

I dont know the cost of the electromagnet, as its not given on the website anywhere. If i get a relative permeability of more than 100, then the length of the wire will reduce automatically.
I wanted to know how much I could spend on the core.
