Minutes of the Meeting
Date: 28th, April 2012 Time: 5:30 pm
Agenda: To decide which shows, events will be held next Engineer and to divide for work this summer. Marketing strategy too.
EVENTS:-
Events that will be there (incharge):-
1. Blitzkrieg (Adarsh)- opponents will have to attack each other with IR firearms. It will be held in front of the MB and will have an obstacle-course (Shravya, Soumya) like arena.
2. Psych room-
a. LED Ball (Pavan)- a 3D ball formed by spinning LEDs.
b. Liquid light (Pragyan)- A matrix of LEDs of different colours, when a spot is touched, light ‘ripples’ out from that point.
c. Shadow LED (Himanshu)- A LED matrix in front of which you hold your hand and the LEDs behind will turn off with a shadow like effect.
d. Floating bulb (Bhuvana)- A bulb levitating in mid-air and powered by pumping EM waves and no wires. Its intensity will change with the background music.
e. 3D cube (Pavan)- A 8x8x8 LED structure that responds to music.
f. Waterfall (Anirban)- A series of fans that blow foam balls up in a column. It responds music too.
g. Emotion reactor (Himanshu)- A panel of LEDs that change colour based on the emotion displayed by the person standing infront of the panel.
3. Megapixel (Himanshu, Deep)- A huge LED display to be hung on a building. Games will be played on it. (DX ball, Snake, Tetris)
4. Contraption (Greeshma)- A huge contraption that will be at the entrance. Needs a lot of volunteers.
New events that will be there, provided they meet the specified deadlines:-
1. Theramin (Varun)- A set of antennas that produce music as you move your hand through their field. Can be integrated with Laser Harp (Amber, Bhuvana) which is a harp that produces different sounds as you pass your hand through the chord-imitating laser beams.
2. Fruit Ninja (Leela)- Based on the Android App where strokes with a knife cut falling fruits. Keyglove/Kinect can be detect used to the hand movement directs the knife. Needs OpenGL
3. Air Sketching (Rakshith)- a camera an IR pin will be used to detect the strokes of the hand and using OpenCV they will be processed and the strokes will be displayed.
4. Music Creator (Shravya, Sam)- A DDR like layout. Where different spots correspond to different tones in an octave.
5. Doodle Jump (Pranav)- a see-saw like board on which someone stands and tilts the board. A doodle jumps on the display depending on the direction and magnitude of the jump.
6. Strong Man (Divya)- A carnival game that involves hitting a stump to drive a ball-like thing up a pole. Can be integrated with Power Cycling (Pranav) that involves driving a ball up a pole by cycling.
7. Guitar Hero (Pranav)- Kinect based. Play a virtual guitar infront of the kinect and music will be generated accordingly
8. Air Hockey (Shromona, Pooja)- Based on Image Processing. The arcade game.
New Events that have been currently cancelled but can still be played next Engi if proven feasible.
1. Arcade (Shromona)- ways to make it fool-proof and unbreakable.
2. Virtual Bowling --- dunno what was decided…. :/
3. Chirow Dance (Pranav)- Cost of Visible Lasers. Is it feasible to implement within a reasonable budget?
OpenGL will be needed in quite a few games- incharge- Pooja, Soumya S., Chetan, Himanshu
Design circuits to filter out components sound for Waterfall, 3D cube, etc.- Ajith, Ankith, Anoop, Shashi, Leela

Show should be half an hour atleast.

1. Brochures, Posters (Photoshop)
2. Portfolio needed while asking for funds
3. Approach companies
4. Event-wise(for big events) and as Technites.
5. Budget-wise marketing
The size is 18x32.This is the maximum size. Might have to reduce if at all structure issues come up.
As I said think of 2 player games using the joystick like in last year's lasertanks. More fun and covers more ppl. Ping pong is one such option. See if it's possible to display time and score on the Big screen. DDR circuits are all over technites room. You could take them or if you don't find take it from the DDR board itself.
