Dear all,
Greetings from IIT Gandhinagar (IITGN). I am Jayaprakash, a faculty in the Discipline of Mechanical Engineering at IITGN. As you are aware, IITGN is a third generation IIT. It came into existence about a decade ago and has grown from strength to strength and is one of the most respected institutes in terms of research, academics, campus culture and faculty. We are in constant pursuit of young and bright minds as faculty on our campus. In this regard, I would like to discuss with you all some of the discerning highlights of IITGN in order for you to consider IITGN as your prospective destination as a faculty. I will be visiting Technion (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) from 11-07-2018 to 26-07-2018 and would like to meet you all to make a short presentation about our institute and discuss the modalities of faculty application and thereof. I would be happy to answer all your questions in this regard, if any. Kindly let me know if you can schedule a gathering of interested Indian graduate students and post-docs in Technion. We really appreciate your support in this regard. Feel free to let me know if you have any other queries.

Thanks and regards,
Jayaprakash

Dear Dr. Jayaprakash KR:
Thank you for the email. I am sure that there would be interested postdocs/students in Technion. One, or some, of us will definitely arrange a meeting of yours with such people when you are here. Someone will email you with the details in advance.

Hi Dr. Sahu,
Sure. IITGN has a discipline of biological engineering and you can look at the faculty profiles and suitability thereof.

Thanks and regards,
Jayaprakash

PS: Kindly refrain from ‘reply all’ since these mail interactions would keep accumulating in our directors’s and Prof. Dilip Sundaram’s mailbox which may not be necessary at this stage.

I thought that it might be better to get a rough idea about the number of people interested in interacting with Dr. Jayaprakash since we can find a hall/room accordingly later. It'd be great if you express interest in the link:
Perhaps we can have the meeting on 19th July evening say around 7 pm which, being a Thursday, should be fine with everyone.
In case you have some suggestion, please email me or indrajits...@gmail.com

Dr. Jayaprakash said he is free on July 19th, 7 pm - we will therefore have the interaction then.
Hoping that there will not be an exponential increase in the number from what it is now, I have booked room 861 in the eighth floor of the EE department, Mayer building.
Will inform if there is any change.

Dr. Jayaprakash wanted to clarify the matter re the hard copy requirements for faculty application, and you can find his exact words below:
`I just wanted to clarify one thing, once the application is made, the Faculty Recruitment office wants a hard copy to be sent to IITGN. However, if you are unable to send all the hard copy documents for some reason, you may have to inform and seek permission from the concerned personnel (faculty.r...@iitgn.ac.in), else, they might sometimes wait for the hard copy application for further processing and the process might get delayed inordinately.
If you have any further queries, feel free to write to me or meet me in my office #233 in Dan and Betty Kahn Mechanical Engg. Building, any day before 26th.
Wishing you guys all the very best in your future endeavors.'
