About the Session and Speakers

Be Your Own Editor

In our journey of producing documentation, finding the right info and documenting it accurately are two different things. While reviews help bridge this gap, a bad review is worse than no review at all. The session will focus on the art of providing feedback, acting on the feedback, and arriving at a consensus; a consensus that is favorable not to the writer, not to the editor, but to the product and task in hand.

Speaker Profile

Gayathri has around 13 years of total experience in technical writing and editing. She's had her fair share of learning as well during her various stints in networking, mutual fund, storage, and wind turbine domains/industries. A self-confessed Quora addict, when she's not at work and when she's not lost in Quora yet, she can be found reading or whipping up something in the kitchen. Gayathri is currently trying her hand in the NaNoWriMo project, and is already loving the challenge it is throwing.

Creating Mockups using Mockflow

Plain Wireframes can't always convey important design components, grey boxes and text content can’t communicate how colors and contrasts influence content, the visual impact of brand design, the visual weight of graphical elements or the visual path.

In response to the given wireframing limitation, Mockups can help the designer to uncover visual elements that clash, before you arrive at the final, end design. Visual hierarchies, that shows the difference between design elements such as font and color, should be determined at the mockup phase of the design process. With the visual elements more refined than with wireframes, mockups allow stakeholders to actually review the visual side of the project.

Mockflow, a mockup designing application, provides a full stack UX solution for design teams that includes wireframing, sitemaps, style guides, design workflow and more to plan and create better user interfaces within a single suite.

Speaker Profile

Abrar has over 7 years experience in IT industry as a Technical Writer cum Business Analyst, extensively working on user manuals, walkthroughs and with not so recent exposure to mobile and web UX designing that has helped the Project Management Office track and control organization's business divisions with simple dashboards.
