About the Sessions and Speakers

Autobot - The way we do it – Kabila and Sumithra

Autobot is a digital assistant that simulates conversation with a user and clarifies their queries. Autobot can also be used to automate programmatically executable tasks. The presentation will give a brief description on use, application, and flavours of Autobots.

The main focus will be on implementation/integration of the end user documentation content to the application using the Autobot framework.This involves, slicing and dicing of the traditional content into FAQs and using scripts to hook the content to the corresponding API calls.The rest is the in-house Framework devised and built to bring Autobot into action!!!

Speakers Profile

Kabila - She is associated with HCL for 8 years now and has over 12 years of experience in the IT industry. Apart from documentation, she also acts as a Quality Metrics representative for documentation team. She was instrumental in re-structuring existing API documentation for better information usability. She simplified post-conversion clean-up tasks of Frame Maker to XML conversion and improvised the workflow of SDK documentation for better clarity and precision.

Sumithra - She has 16 years of experience in the Technical Writing Industry. She has been with HCL for 9 years addressing documentation needs for a Networking/Telecom client. She has ideated and implemented several value-added services that enhanced customer experience. To mention a few, introduced interactive flow charts in process flow documents, scripts to automate replacement of default XML tags with the appropriate tags, and deployed bulk renaming utility that automated renaming of bulk files while XML migration.

Planned Execution and Unexpected Changes in Project - Kiranmayee

Kiranmayee Pamarthy has 3 decades of experience in the IT industry. She started her career as faculty in Brilliants Computer Center in the late 80s and early 90s. She dabbled with coding, testing, and finally settled in the field of Technical Communications. Kiranmayee has worked in various verticals or domains. She likes mentoring, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning. She is a recipient of numerous national and international awards in her area of expertise and for her speeches.

3 Easy Steps to Create a Video - Beatrice and Nancy
  1. Create Story board in PPT and work on voice script in the same PPT.
  2. Use VideoScribe to create video, Balabolka to create MP3 file for voice, and WaveEditor to insert silence and pause in the MP3 file.
  3. Merge the audio file to the video and adjust the timing based on the voice script.

Beatrice Isaac is a passionate writer with quest to learn new technology and trends in writing. She has over 13+ years of experience in technical documentation in various domains such as telecommunication and networking, finance, and so on. She is now working at HCL and her interests are reading books, gardening, writing poems and stories, and playing with her young sons!!!

Nancy Petricia has over 13+ years of experience in technical writing and team management. She started her career as a Developer and due to her love for English she entered into the world of technical writing. She has worked on several technical documents for a wide range of networking products, banking-related products, and so on. She now works for HCL and when she’s free she loves to hold the mike and croon her favorite songs.

DevOps is one of the buzz words in IT. It is a new trend that emphasizes on collaboration and integration of Development and Operations that were functioning as independent silos. With proper DevOps practice in place, companies can deliver software faster and efficiently with zero or less bugs. Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration are key Practices that enable DevOps.

Speaker Profile

Ramesh Suriaprakhash is a Senior IT professional having more than 13 years of experience in IT field. Had been a technical writer between 2003 and 2007 and then moved to Testing / QA and working in manual and automation testing. He has been working for global clients in complex testing projects. He has published many articles in knowledge portals of the organization where he was/is working. He is interested in sharing knowledge on current / upcoming technologies.
