About the Sessions and Speakers 

Learn how to set up your documentation repository in GitHub and build a simple documentation website.

This session will take you through the steps to build your documentation site and it covers:
* How to use Git to manage your doc repositories
* How to manage repositories in GitHub
* How to use VS Code editor to edit and manage your docs
* How to build documentation website using Hugo, Asciidoctor and MKDocs

Please bring your laptop for a hands-on experience. Install the following applications for the session:

1. Install git from https://git-scm.com/downloads

2. Create an account in GitHub, if not. https://github.com

3. Install Ruby and RubyInstaller https://asciidoctor.org/#gem-install

4. Install Asciidoctor
5. Install Hugo https://gohugo.io/getting-started/installing/
6. Install Python https://www.python.org/downloads/
7. Install MKDocs https://www.mkdocs.org/#installation
8. Install VS Code https://code.visualstudio.com/download

All these package installations are easy if you have Chocolatey package manager in Windows and takes less than 5 minutes for each of these installation.

Shanthi Srinivasan works as a Prinicipal User Assistance Developer in Oracle India. She has more than 14 years of experience. She likes to share what she has learnt and also an inquisitive learner.

Vidya Srivatsan is a Doc Lead with 14 years of experience. She is currently working in Siemens.
