Urgently required: A converter to convert a Devanagari text into Roman diacritics

Dear Members,

      I urgently need to convert an article written in English, but with a lot of Sanskrit texts in Devanagari, into Roman diacritics for Devanagari texts.

      Any simple program to do it?

      I know how to type Roman diacritics using function keys. But to retype many pages of Sanskrit texts in Devanagari into Roman diacritics would be a very time-consuming and boring task.

You can use https://aksharamukha.appspot.com/converter

Copy the devanagari text as input and choose the Roman scheme that you want eg. IAST or ISO

I require everything in unicode. Input is in MS Word. Devanagari text in Arial unicode ms. Roman diacritics should be in unicode only.

Yes, all output is in unicode. IAST and ISO transliteration schemes are slightly different. You can see which one you prefer. Vinodh has added many other Roman schemes, you can choose based on your requirement.

But I am very ignorant currently.

मेरे विचार से आपको पहले यह निश्चित करना चाहिए कि किस "Roman diacritics" (देवनागरी  से रोमन लिप्यंतरण) में बदलना है।  इसके बाद का काम तो बाएं हाथ का खेल है।  आपके मूल पाठ में जो देवनागरी है वह शायद यूनिकोड में है।  अतः उसे उसके साथ के रोमन टेक्स्ट से छांटने में किसी भी प्रोग्राम को कोई समस्या नहीं होगी और वह छाँट-छाँटकर  देवनागरी को वांछित रोमन योजना में बदल देगा।

लेकिन पहले आप बताएँ कि आप देवनागरी को किस योजना के तहत रोमन में बदलना चाहते हैं ( IAST, ISO 15919, Monier-Williams72, Harvard-KyotoI, TRANS, Velthuis, SLP1, WX  आदि ) .  इसके बाद देखना है कि  यह काम करने के लिए पहले से ही मुफ्त प्रोग्राम हैं या नहीं।  मेरा अनुभव है कि  अधिकांश के लिए पहले से प्रोग्राम बने हुए हैं और मुफ्त में उपलब्ध हैं।  यदि आवश्यक होगा तो अलग से प्रोग्राम लिखेंगे।

Either IAST or ISO 15919 for diacritics. 

The main difference is regarding transliterating ऋ ॠ ऌ ॡ.

Provisions may be done for both.

This will take a hell of time. I do not want this. I want a straightforward one to one only diacritics for each varNa of devanagari.

I have checked it. This program also works. Moreover, it accepts an image/ pdf file as well.

अक्षरमुख वस्तुतः लिप्यन्तरण का महोपकरण है जिसमें थाई , बर्मी, तिब्बती आदि से भी लिप्यंतरण की सुविधा है।  सिंहल आदि लिपि सहित भारतीय लिपियों में परस्पर लिप्यंतरण के तो बीसों  प्रोग्राम मिल जायेंगे।  

लेकिन क्या कुछ ऐसे प्रोग्राम बनाने के प्रयास हुए हैं जो चीनी , जापानी, कोरियाई,  जर्मन, फ्रेंच, रूसी अदि  के पाठ  को देवनागरी में इस प्रकार परिवर्तित करतें हों कि उनका उच्चारण मोटे तौर पर अपरिवर्तित रहे?  मैं अंतरराष्ट्रीय ध्वन्यात्मक वर्णमाला (IPA)  को इस काम के लिए कम से काम भारत के लिए उपयुक्त नहीं मानता हूँ क्योंकि एक नयी वर्णमाला सीखना सरल नहीं है और उस पर IPA तो बिलकुल नहीं।
