Sr. Mainframe Developer with Production Support

Phoenix, AZ

Long Term Contract

 

Job Description:

 

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in Mainframe development and Production Support projects.
• Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM.
• Provide L1/L2 production support for Mainframe applications.
• Monitor batch jobs and resolve job abends, failures, and application issues within SLA timelines.
• Handle Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management activities.
• Perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring production issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and scheduling tools.
• Coordinate with business users, onsite teams, and cross-functional support teams for issue resolution.
• Lead Major Incident Management (MIM) and bridge calls for critical production outages.
• Execute emergency fixes, production deployments, and validation activities.
• Drive automation initiatives and process improvements to improve operational efficiency.
• Prepare technical documentation, support runbooks, and knowledge management artifacts.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
• Participate in on-call and weekend support rotations as required.
• Experience with SLA-driven support environments.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and Service Management best practices.
• Experience in customer-facing roles and stakeholder communications.
