Congratulations to all !!

We had with us some of the very eminent professors of the Institute to judge the events namely Prof. Sudhakar(aero), Prof Om Damani(CS), Prof. Ravi Raghunathan( MA), Prof. Munshi(IDC), Prof. Vedagiri(civil).

The event and work done by all the students were quite appreciated by the judges.
Some remarks and suggestions by the professors were that the participants/teams hadn't justified all the aspects of the judging criteria as mentioned clearly in the statement. Those were mentioned to give quantitative justification to a highly subjective competition. Though we realise these criterias had been mentioned for the first time in an exposition and the design competition was a first of its kind in Tech GC, entries would lack in some places. But, this should serve as a guideline for  future such competitions.
Thank you all for putting in the high efforts and a good show overall :)

@tech secys: forward the mail to all the participants including the non shortlisted ones too.

It was an excellent GC. Well thought topic and good implementation.
I wish I was more involved.

A thought after listening to Solutions of IIT traffic.
I was looking at something like not having lake side route, rather shuttle, and some changes in academic schedule that could have not all ppl leaving at same time.
And maybe some math to prove that roads' improvement will give monetary benefits...

Please suggest if any of the ideas, or any new ideas can be taken forward to dear GSHA.
Nothing better can be outcome of this competition.

Congrats to all people who helped their hostels get a position.

Thanks and Regards,

Structural changes in new buses to be purchased as it was in our talk

TO SOLVE OVERCROWDING

1)One row of foldable seats on periphery of each bus and the central space is empty
2)More standing place with support rods and handles at top for gripping just like Delhi Metro

TO MINIMIZE TIME WASTAGE IN BOARDING AND UN-BOARDING

1)Have two doors to buses: entry door and exit door.

2)Increase width of doors for parallel entry and exit of passengers.

Timetable consideration while deciding bus schedule.

A committee having representatives of each hostel, staff and prof quarters can be formed acting as interface between users and schedulers of tum-tum. Using data of how many students leave particular hostel at a certain time; frequency of bus can be changed or atleast different size bus can be sent along that route  on that particular week day.

cheers,
