Hi Fran
Resin printers are tricky and the resin is toxic and smelly. I have one of these
and one of these
I bought these to cut down on the fumes from the resin.
I use this resin
Resins are toxic and irritant so PPE must be worn when handling and using the resin. The plant based resin is less toxic and smells less but there are still fumes. The resin needs to be cured by UV light, this is what the second item is for. The case blocks all of the UV rays but care still needs to be taken. The final product needs to be washed in IPA also so this would need to be considered in the risk assessment but you can get this resin.
but you can’t get water washable plant based resin so it’s a choice. I haven’t used it yet so I can’t speak about tips etc for that but I will when I know more.
He can contact me directly if Neil has any other questions and I’ll try to help.

Subject: Polymer Resin 3D Printers
Hello Techné Members,
I am interested in hearing from schools around the country who have may have already invested in Resin SLA 3D printers. We have had some initial enquiries in Glasgow and, as far as we know, nobody has actually bought one but we are keen to keep ahead of the curve with regards the introduction of this new technology.
Any advice or information that you can share on model choice, safe use, material safety, ventilation etc would be greatly appreciated.
Neill
