Good afternoon, TLF!
Academy District 20 currently provides iPads to students K-2 and Dell Windows laptops to students 3-12 and to staff. We are investigating a transition to ChromeOS Flex and, ultimately, Chromebooks, for all 3-12 students. We are a dual Microsoft and Google district with MS being used heavily for productivity/office functions including email & virtual meetings and Google tools being used in many classrooms. I would love to hear from other districts about their Chromebook/ChromeOS experience. I would very much appreciate it if you could reply to me with your thoughts on any/all of the topics & questions below. Thanks in advance!
What do you love? What about teachers? Students?
What are the pain points?
Do students routinely print, and if so, how do you support that?
What recommendations do you have for professional learning needs?
Do you notice that Chromebooks work better/worse to support learning at different grade levels? Why?
If you switched from Windows devices to Chromebooks in the last 5 years, please share anything that stood out to you that may be helpful in our possible transition.
