Google Gears පාවිච්චි කිරීමෙන් සාමාන්‍ය web applications වල නැති, පහසුකම් රාශියක් ලබාගැනීමට පුලුවන්;

- ඔබේ web application එකට Client Side එකේ පාවිච්චි කලහැකි දත්ත සමුදාවක් (Database) සමඟ වැඩ කිරීමට
- Desktop application එකකට සමාන web application සාදා ගැනීමට

සාමාන්‍යයෙන් මෙවැනි පහසුකම් වෙබ් ඇප්ලිකේෂන් එකකට යොදාගැනීම දුෂ්කර කාර්යයක්. එවැනි Rich Internet Applications සෑදීමට Google Gears වැනි මෙවලම් භාවිතා කරනවා.

Google Reader, Google Docs, Remember the Milk වාගේ වෙබ් අඩෙවි Offline හැකියාව ලබාදීමට Google Gears යොදාගන්නවා.

නමුත් මෙවැනි පහසුකම් පරිශීලකයාට ලබා ගැනීම සඳහා, Google Gears install කරගැනීමට අවශ්‍යයයි.
