Good morning, techies.

Does 2Degrees install a new GPON for the fibre connection that the PA will use? If so, how far out from the install do they usually need to do this?

Don't think so, they just provision the 2dm service on another port and move over, there may be exceptions.

I've seen the same as Brad - ie, the new service is commissioned LAN2 port on the Chorus ONT (assuming existing service is on LAN1).

In our case they just used the next available port on the existing ONT, port 3 as 2 was used for VoIP by a different provider.

It was literally have both firewalls running side by side, then switch to the PA with new lacp trunks provisioned on the core, wait a few minutes and we're ready to go.

The only two issues post PA was no access to Ruckus to whitelist the new lacp trunk MAC, and students with DoH enabled in browser/ChromeOS or DNS set to Google/Cloudflare that caused some issues.
