Good Friday Afternoon All!

Feilding High School is interested in getting some vape sensors installed into their toilets and I'm after some feedback around what is out on the market.

Things like, how easy is it for staff to use the app for notifications?
Whats been your experience with your chosen product/vendor.
Why did you choose your particular brand?
Was it due to cost? cloud or lack of cloud?
Whats the subscription cost to device cost like? eg the device is cheaper but the subscription is more?

What have been some of the negatives or gotchas when you started using them?

I understand of course the chance of false positives, given that they are essentially almost a smoke detector and so any particulate could potentially trigger an alert.
Steam, smoke, vapour and so on.

Thanks,
Dion McGovern-Allen.
IT Manager.

I keep getting emails from Zeptive. Their products aren't cheap. $$$$ plus licensing and i cant remember if that was NZD or USD.

They are that, and so much more!

An interesting watch for the rainy weekend:

Thanks for sharing, Pete.

Dion, although not for vape, I have worked with Scopious on sensors, and by previous employer used their parent/related company (Go Wireless) for kit over many year. Good quality, great service, and fair prices.

Hi Dion,

We use verkada sensors.
They are really good, have a ecosystem if you want cameras linked to them etc, but we use our exsisting camera system so its not a must have.

In terms of pricing its not too bad but not cheap and have an ongoing license fee.
We got the Verkada SV23 sensor they are $1.5k a sensor and we got a 3 year license for $900 pricing is in NZD and they now have a NZ Based acct manager so some form of local support.

Feel free to contact me directly if you have any more questions :)

Kind Regards,
Brayden Challis
