Hello,

We have 710 student licenses for Workspace for Education Plus, but our school roll is 800 (could be more next year).

Who do I contact regarding additional licenses? (We do our IT in-house, we don't have a relationship at the moment with a third-party IT support.)

Thanks.

Would there be a charge for these licenses?

Hi,
You can order a top up for your students from whoever you ordered the original licences from.
If you need info about this I can help so feel free to contact me off forum.

We do our licencing through your IT partner which is usually who you brought chromebooks from (or other hardware)
These licences are fully funded by the MoE software contract.
If you don't have and IT services partner we often suggest one of our retail partners.

Thinking of which, does anyone know how the MoE is handling the license changes in February 2026?

Had this email a while back:

Google-License-2.png
Google-License-3.png

Screenshots to prevent copy+paste formatting problems.  See the minimum purchase requirements bit specifically.
So, this makes for interesting reading from the perspective of machine and service accounts.
I've spent a fair while during the year converting a lot of those to email-only, but it can be more difficult for GCP and other system account types, which need to be full users for functionality.

Hi David,
There is no impact to you or the the MoE agreement of this global change.
Schools in the MoE agreement dont need to do anything about this.
Best regards
Steve
