Mōrena everyone,
Apologies for a school break message but I wanted to share this one in case you missed the notification, as it is important

Google vids is rolling out personal avatars shortly.
Admins can (and should) check the settings for this to ensure they are appropriate for their school.
Available editions : Education Plus, T&L, Google AI Pro for Education (18+)
Description: Google Vids will introduce personal avatars on or after July 14, 2026. Admins can disable the feature in the Admin console before launch if desired. Admins have already received an email about this with more info.
  • Personal avatars: This upcoming feature will allow users to create avatars with their own face and voice, in order to safely and securely include themselves in high-quality videos. For example, teachers will be able to narrate class materials with a personal touch.
  • Admin action: If admins don’t take action to turn the setting off, the feature will be enabled by default for end users on or after July 14, 2026. Admins must disable the setting if they do not want all or some users to have access to the personal avatars feature when it launches. If Vids is already disabled, the personal avatar feature automatically remains OFF.
  • Feature availability: When personal avatars become available, only 18+ users with English as their primary language preference with the feature enabled will have the ability to create, control, or delete their own personal avatar.

Just a reminder that all this information stays inside your domain and is not shared externally (unless a user shares the video ) as per your terms of service that cover both Gemini and NotebookLM

I am organising an admins update session later this month, I will send more info shortly.
