Hi all,

I used to have an account for software via software.alliedtelesis.com but its obviously changed since many years ago / not migrated.
I'd like to look at upgrading some software/firmware on our switches.

Are we licenced to do so (on the newer x510/x610), do we contact allied telesis NZ to create an account?

Also looking at replacing more edge switches but just holding off in-case there's any rumor in the mill regarding switch upgrade projects, should I 'wait'?

Cheers,

Matt

Hi Matt
I was told to wait just this week by a N4L rep. also for updates allied site let  you create a temp/guest account which worked for me to get firmware recently

Ok I tried the temp account but It only returns limited models, and when I try to register a different device it fails every time.

I'm trying to obtain older firmware for x510/x610 switches but going round in circles.

I havent kept up with version and need to look at the upgrade path (and check licencing)

My x610 is still on 5.4.2 - and I think can run up to 5.4.7 (tho I want to look at replacing this pending any announcements)
the x510's are newer - currently 5.4.6 and can run 5.4.8

Anything newer than 5.4.2?

All sorted. The awesome Allied Telesis team, logon done, software done, switches patched.

Their support team is top notch. I hope the ministry are looking!

I'll add my support/approval of AT's support as well. More than once they've identified an issue that presented as theirs but ended up being something weird onsite.

Very happy with them :-)

Why AT lock down their firmware I don't know, I don't know of any other vendor that does. Cisco firmware is easy to access I don't know why AT shoot themselves in the foot by making it so difficult.
