Hi

during this lockdown teachers are reporting google meet issues

Main issues at present:

  1. The moderators attendance reports after the meeting are not being sent as expected where there is more than 1 teacher assigned to the Google Classroom
  2. The Recordings of the Google Meetings are not being sent to the teacher that host the meetings

The issues seem to suggest we haven't got settings for the classrooms correct or there is a new way of setting up who is the owner and host of the meets.

Is there any suggestions or links to documentation so that we are able to check the settings for the meet, ie host owner and teachers attached to a subject classroom

Any help would be great appreciated

Kia ora all,
The attendance report will be sent to the meeting owner or first co- teacher in the Meet (you can assign co teachers via classroom or within the Meet) depending on how you have it set up
We have seen that if a teacher (or co teacher in a classroom) clicks the reset Meet link then they will become the moderator/owner of the meet and attached attendance report.
If you are using old Meet links the advice is to reset these (or delete them and re create via the admin console or investigation tool in Edu+) to pick up the new security settings and quick access features.
The info from the help center is below and the investigation tool info can be seen in the youtube clip that is here.
If you have more questions please feel free to contact me (or your IT services provider if you have one) direct and I would be happy to talk you through it.
The link at the bottom gives you info on using Meet via classroom which is the the most secure type of access.
You can also use calendar based or shared Meet links very securely by applying security settings from your admin console. especially switching off the ability for students to start a Meet call.

After a video meeting with at least 5 participants, the meeting moderator receives an email with an attendance report attached.
Important: Only Google Workspace for Education Plus moderators can currently receive attendance reports in Google Meet. Anyone who schedules or starts a meeting will be the moderator. There can only be one moderator per meeting. If you transfer a meeting to—or schedule a meeting on—someone else's calendar, that person might become the moderator.
View an attendance report
  1. Open the email account you use for Classroom.
  2. In the attendance report email, click the report attachment.
What does a report include?

The report is a CSV file and includes the following information:

  1. Participant’s name
    • If someone calls in, part of their phone number will be listed instead of their name.
  2. Participant’s email
  3. Length of time participant was on a call, including timestamps of when they first joined and when they left the call.
    • If someone gets ejected from a call, that timestamp will be recorded as the time they left the call.
    • If someone joins and leaves the call more than once, multiple timestamps won’t be listed, but their overall call duration will be included.

Note: Meeting moderators get attendance reports for all meetings, including those started from Classroom or meet.google.com.
