We have some student BYOD MacBooks that fall off the Secure Access network because they are using private WiFi addresses. I turned off this function, but it turned on again automatically a few hours later.  I have just allocated a student DPSK to them via MyN4L.  Has anyone else seen this?

We have had a few issues with the private Mac Address on Macbooks. It sometimes creates issues with roaming.

We are not on Secure access or N4Ls network gear.

We just get the students to turn it off for our SSID and use the Macbooks Mac address for our network. We haven't had issues with it turning back on.

Fun fact: [spec-compliant] randomised MAC addresses on your network can be found by looking through the DHCP leases table for entries that have second least significant bit of the MAC's first byte set to 1

Sorry to hijack your thread Stephen :) Hope you figure out why they're turning back on.

Pete
