Anyone else had a Sportway camera and box installed at their school?

Having issues with getting the commentary/scoring site to work and wondered if anyone does and what ports/site you got unblocked?
When on wifi cant see the camera feed or start the live commentary, works fine over mobile data.
They gave me a single port 10003 udp and have got n4l to allow but has made no difference.

They just seem to think that they can just plug in to a managed network and everything will work.

Simon Wright

We do (since April); it's on a wired connection to a guest VLAN.
I don't think we have any special firewall settings for that VLAN (default security profiles are applied) - other than only having access to the Internet (no rules allowing local LAN access).

When idle it seems to only talk port 443 to pixellot-gl-prod.s3.amazonaws.com and pixellot-venue-logs.s3.amazonaws.com (both categorised as "computer-and-internet-info").
Also it speedtests to assorted places on port 8080 routinely (URL categories "computer-and-internet" or "entertainment-and-arts").

I don't know what the traffic looks like during a streamed event (I don't know how people view the live games e.g. is there a schedule of what is streamed for a given school).
So as far as I know the live streaming is working - but I haven't actually heard anything either way.

When you turn the PC on and it boots up, it talks through the internal speaker to say it is connected, so presumably that means it has passed connectivity checks.

Yeah, the camera and box are not the issue it's the doing live commentary from a laptop and their website.
Some ports are being blocked, the issue is they don't even really know what needs to be unblocked ,they gave me a single port, but Clayton (N4L) did a quick dig and found multiple ports being blocked.

Have any of the games been done at yours not used commentary?

Through the grapevine I'd heard any commentary was done remotely (?).
There was one game with multiple cameras (and I think on-site commentary) but I don't think they even used the permanent camera as part of the mix.

But - I don't know who "they" are - so it might be that there are two different unrelated streaming outfits going on.
I'm aware of Sportway / Pixellot / Remote Networks / Engage Live / SIBSN.
I don't know if they're all related or if there are two separate threads in there.

Sportway is the main company selling access to live games, they use Pixellot camera system, Remote Networks i believe are the contracted installers.
Don't know about Engage Live, but SIBSN is the new tournament that these cameras were all hinged on.
This is what i've managed to piece together.

Its Sportway that i'm enraged engaged with. They provide a USB audio interface and some headset mics and we have to use our own laptop. They send a link which goes to a specific site to control the scoring and to feed the commentary for the live stream. It was all last minute on Tuesday at the interschool game and it didn't work, the only workaround was using a hotspot, but reception isn't great.
Now there is a game tomorrow requiring commentary - and yes, we have to provide commentators, we're just lucky we have some people to call on for this - so now working with N4L to figure out what needs unblocked as Sportway seemingly don't quite understand networks or at least properly managed networks as their last response was "unblocking the device completely from any firewalls restrictions rather than specific ports".

So hence interested to know who else had a Sportsway camera installed and that had to provide commentary for games.

Simon.

Thanks for the info.
I'm pretty sure we don't have any of that audio kit (mics or audio interface) - but I'll ask at this end just in case we do.
I hope Sportway pay well for your commentary service!

Apparently we do have that kit for DIY commentary (audio interface and headset mics), and we have done commentary before.
There's a game tomorrow; I can have a look at what the traffic looks like.

I have it working now thanks to N4L. Got Sportway to set up a test. Had to make some specific policies to get it to work, allowing a lot of STUN traffic to a couple of IPs.

If they are using the school wifi, i'd be testing it with Sportways now to make sure it actually works.
