Hi all,

Just curious to see who uses a SaaS partner for M365 or Google Workspace tenant backup, from the likes of Veeam, Dropsuite (NinjaOne), Datto, Backupify etc
Or sticking with something local?

Costs seem to vary with most cloud vendors offering unlimited storage but at x $ a head per month, some with education staff/student ratios etc.
And then how granular you want it - 2hr 8hr or 24hour backup, search tools, granular restores etc.

Keen to hear what others are doing.

Matt

Matt,
I am using Cove Data Protection from N-Able for M365 backup. Was quick to set up and easy to do restores. Took about 10 minutes to setup the backup and then just a few minutes to learn how to do a restore. They have an NZ distributor but can buy direct from Australia. Our IT support partner recommended dealing directly with Austalia.

regards

Keith

We were using an online service (can't remember which one, was through our tech support company)
We just were backing up 3 accounts, but that backed up all our shared drives... but got hit with a fair use policy.
Worked out it was much cheaper to get a synology box, and have this running onsite to back up our cloud storage, and then have our important onsite services backed up to cloud storage

We are also using a synology nas with their own backup software for both google and 365, works great and doesn't cost any extra over the NAS itself (though you need a certain model/series of nas to get the software).

Simon.
