Doable events:
Robotics
1.
Shuffle - IP event. Basically similar to previous techfest events (seriously, don't these folks innovate?!). Detect blocks from overhead cam and pick up and place.
I don't see any other doable robotics events, especially given the overhead involved. IARC toh chhod de, robosoccer needs 4 bots and Manoeuvre has a wonky mech part I think.
Online
Now these do not require one to go to campus so maybe some can stay back at KGP and do. OR, considering we'll need all the help we can get, they can come with us and then during the event sit somewhere with lappies and internet and do.
1.
Chaos - Given a new language with it's API, solve simple problems. I am seriously up for this, kyunki ismein algo utna nahi chaiye but more presence of mind :P
2.
IOPC - Their proper coding event. We have our champions for that :P
Presentations
1.
AISRC - Here you have to present software/hardware/research ideas. In research I will prolly register as an indiv. participant with my BTP work (the more developed one) and I think some of you can do the same (if you've done a lot of work thus far :P)
In software projects I think we can enter a number of cool term project ideas we've done. Me and Hanny could enter our Ubuntu remote idea. If anyone has cool h'ware or electronics stuff they can do too.
Embedded
1.
FPGA - Coding an Edge detection algorithm on an FPGA. I've recently been doing a low level course on CV and have implemented a bunch of edge detectors using low level operations. If someone is very FPGA savvy we can work on this (ideally someone who's actually done extensive Verilog). If we cannot find anyone I can get someone from the dep.
