I had no problems with the Deep Freeze 7.72 Console upgrade.  The groups were also intact.  The Deep Freeze Workstation Seed does not work.

The message returned is "Unrecognized Stream format"

Is anyone else having this problem?

Admin server is 10.3.225.64 - Unit is 51021

Should I open a ticket?  The old seed works fine, and allows me to update to the DF Workstation

This is an update for the Deep Freeze Enterprise Console to version 7.72. It should cleanly install over an existing 7.10 version at C:\Program Files\DF7 (or C:\Program Files (x86)\DF7 on 64-bit systems.) If it does not, deleting that folder and reinstalling the new version will always work.

You will need to reinstall your console with the new version from your compliance website.

If you do not upgrade, you likely experience erratic and unusual behavior from an old console talking through the new Deep Freeze service to your frozen and thawed computers. I'm not saying it won't work at all, but you'll definitely experience difficulties of varying types and degrees.

You should upgrade your workstations via your console as time allows, but there is no immediate requirement for upgrading existing Deep Freeze 7.1 workstations.

The question about User Defined Groups is a good one - generally they should seamlessly work after the upgrade. However if your groups stop working please open a ticket with the service desk (most often this issue manifests as a non-responsive Networks and Computers area in the Deep Freeze Console). We generally have a way to recover them and we do back them up nightly; in rare occasions there is an error with a computer record in a User Defined Group that prevents it from loading correctly.

Is this an *update* for the DF console or do we have to completely uninstall the old one and then re-install the new one? Will we lose all of our user created groups
