A Techco from one of our feeder elementary schools visited my school.  The tech, who is also a teacher, attempted to use the PARCC practice test. The Test requires Internet Explorer 11.  Is this expected? Or is the practice test outdated?

All,

This will be the master thread for the PARCC online assessment test.

We are having a Webinar for this on 2/2/16 from 2pm-3pm LINK HERE (Archive Link for the video after the event will be posted when it is ready)

Pearson has changed the windows and mac setup for the better, now there is a standalone client similar to the NWEA one.  You will need to install this on each windows / mac system.
  • We have a Windows Guide for installing the new client.
  • Soon we will have a MAC Guide for installing the new client.
  • Ipads Guide is available.
  • Chromebook Kiosk App has already been deployed to all cps managed Chromebooks.
  • The Compliance Site has the windows PARCC Client on it in case the windows sccm client is not working.
We hope that this time around it will be much easier to deploy and manage this test.

The tech was using a link from Pearson via the Knowledge Center.

Is there another testing environment available?

Just speculating, but it sounds to me like they were trying to use the old TestNav shortcut.  I got the same message when I tried to launch it that way before the new app was released.

Thank you.

Greetings Abraham:

The TestNav desktop icon is the best way to get to the "Practice Tests." Tutorials

Students need to understand that some of the questions might only require only "1 answer"

while other questions might - multiple answers

I am  planning to have my teachers - go threw the "Tutorials" so that they will be better able to assist the students if need be.

I tried to plan for those who might be confused - so, I have installed IE 11 and the latest java on the Windows machines.

I hope that this helps you

John
