The NSF has invited proposals for the Emerging Frontiers in Research
and Innovation 2012(EFRI-2012) program to support interdisciplinary
teams of researchers to embark on rapidly advancing frontiers of
fundamental engineering research.
Proposals will be accepted in three research areas:
1) Flexible Bioelectronics Systems (BioFlex);
2) Origami Design for Integration of Self-assembling Systems for
Engineering Innovation (ODISSEI); and,
3) Photosynthetic Biorefineries (PSBR).
Approximately $31 million may be made available to support up to 15
awards. Eligibility is restricted to institutions of higher education.
Letters of intent are due Sep 30. More information regarding
