Happy New-ish Year folks.

In the quest for National Occupational Standards, the Creative and Cultural Skills people are holding consultation meetings acroos the diciplines. If you attend you get travel and refreshments.

I attach the programme of meetings should you wish to use your expertise and contribute.

Rep Apprentices. They all finish today and if there is interest, I will report back on their prospects etc at the next meeting

Cheers folks

I'm looking forward to contributing. I'll be making the 2nd March
meeting. I had recieved another invite but hadn't realised travel is
paid. Thanks, John.

I hope they've allowed enough time?

I'd like to see feedback in this forum from anyone else who attends
these meetings. Seb.

Another meeting in need of help, Friday 9th March, 12.30 to 15.30.
This one is to look at the Stage Support/ Stage Crew standards.
Please help if you can. This is pasted from Donna Parker's message:

Many thanks to those of you who have completed the surveys - hugely
helpful. What I'm about to ask is a big ask but I'm going to ask it
anyway because we really do need your professional expertise and
experience. It would be great if you were able to contribute further
to the consultation by attending the focus group meeting to look at
the draft standards in more detail.

The meeting is set for:
Friday 9 March 12.30 - 3.30pm
Board Room
Creative & Cultural Skills
4th Floor, Lafone House
The Leathermarket
Weston Street
London
SE1 3HN

Lunch will be provided and we will of course reimburse travel expenses
(all we need is a receipt for purchase of tickets)

The aim of the meeting is get your feedback on the draft detailed
descriptions of the different areas of competence needed for each job
surveyed. I will send these out prior to the meeting. We recognize
that different theatres and live arts venues may expect different
things of people with similar job titles. However, we are trying to
put together detailed descriptions of the different areas of
competence needed for each job. We need your help to improve the
descriptions so that they clearly describe what people could
reasonably be expected to do in each role.

During the meeting we will be asking you what works, what's missing
and how you feel the descriptions could be improved so that together
we can try and come up with ways of making them more fair and
accurate.

If you are able to make the time available that would be fantastic but
in any event thanks again for your valuable contributions.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
Donna
