Haapus throws light on an important aspect the life of Malwani People. 'Haapus' is a Marathi film based on the farmers who are engaged in the cultivation of Haapus Aamba (Alphonso Mangoes) in Konkan area of Maharashtra, India. Basically it is a story about one family from a village where the young son of an astrologer wants to break the vicious circle of the mango-farmers getting peanuts from a rich business man who earns millions in the market, and to do so he has to contend with his father's immense belief in astrology. It is a light-hearted comedy, which people of all age groups can enjoy.

It can be a daunting task for a first time director to control such an ensemble cast and manage to get top performances from them and Abhiji Satam does the task with maturity. The way he has shot the film while portraying beautiful locales of the village is sure to keep one glued to the screen.

Sulabha Deshpande, another veteran, proves why she is a respected figure in the Marathi film arena. Over here, she very well speaks with gestures and expressions as she plays a mute character. Subodh is an actor and filmmaker who works primarily in Marathi cinema, theatre, television and has also worked across Hindi and Malayalam Film Industries. Born on 9th November 1975 in Pune, Subodh is now residing in Mumbai. He completed his graduation from Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce. He started his career as a salesman in a small IT company called Inika Technologies situated in Koregaon Park (Pune) and moved to acting later. Subodh is Best known for his portrayal of social reformer and freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak in the acclaimed biopic Lokmanya-Ek Yug Purush (2015), and the titular role in the biographical drama Bal Gandharva (2011). He has appeared in around 50 films in a career spanning well over a decade, and made his directorial debut with the musical drama Katyar Kaljat Ghusali in 2015. His directorial debut was both a critical and commercial success, and was screened at several prestigious film festivals, including the International Film Festival of India and was one of the highest-grossing successful films of 2015. Other significant acting credits include the comedy Hapus (2010), the Bollywood romantic comedy Aiyyaa (2012), the Malayalam crime-drama Pinneyum (2016), the Marathi drama film Hrudayantar (2017), Pushpak Vimaan (2018) and the thriller Savita Damodar Paranjpe (2018). He has also entered into Producing films with Pushpak Vimaan being the 1st Production.

Kaccha Limbu starring Ravi Jadhav and Sonali Kulkarni is a National award-winning gem. The film is about a special child with intellectual disability. The child (Bachu) needs care and his parents are torn between their love for him and for each other.

Kakasaheb (aging leader of the political party Jan Sena) prefers his son Prashant Sarpotdar (Pushkar Shrotri) over his nephew Rajesh Sarpotdar (Rajesh Shringarpure) to lead the party. This was enough for Rajesh to separate from Jan Sena and start his own political party called Maharashtra Samrajya Sena. The film also follows the story of two young Jan Sena activists Umesh (Siddharth Chandekar) and his friend (played by Santosh Juvekar), who are as close as brothers.
