Auto Save

Hi,

I am trying out your extension.  It seems that the auto save is not working.  The settings is 1 minute and 3 sessions.  I don't see any session except my current one after 1 day.  Is it working?

Sorry for about your issue.

The autosave only works when your browser is closed by you or your computer suddenly shut down. And the Session is stored as the `Previous Sessions`. Can you help to check again? Thanks. 

If the issue still there please try to remove and re-install this extension. Thanks.

So what is the "Backup every (minutes)" settings for?

I understand there is a "save" functionality when the browser is closed or shut down.  Many tab session manager offers this.  I have been using Session Buddy for years.  I want a session backup tool that auto save every certain interval.  FreshStart used to work.  It has stopped working as well.  That is why I am trying your extension.

Hi Tim,

The definition of our Backup here is it will save the current session as a draft backup every minute. And you will don't see this draft backup until your browser is closed. When the browser close and reopen, it will move the Draft Backup become the Previous Session.

Does it clear for you?. I very much appreciate any feedback or suggestions about this. Thanks

Oh, I see.  I do hope that there is a option to save the last x number of sessions:-)

Yes.  So then I can have a number of historical session backup.  Most session backup extensions do not this.  There used to be one that did that, but I could not find it any more.  So that is something that will differentiate you from the most others.

OH, it is not every minute, but every number x minutes, a configurable settings.

I was looking for the same type of backup too (Backuping automatically a number of session/tabs/windows at an interval).

I also use Freshstart but it no longer work.

To be safe I always use 2-3 extension to automatically save my session at each 5-6 minutes.

What is also important for me is to be able to export/import those sessions so if the extension crash I can recover. Another feature that I would like is an automatic upload/sync each day on my Google drive/Dropbox of my session, so if my whole computer crash I can recover.

Also for privacy reason I prefer to save my session to my own cloud (MY dropbox or My Gdrive) instead of a third party.

By the way I just realized that you seem to be also the dev of FreshStart so will you fix Freshstart soon ? 

Freshstart was simple and very efficient for me to backup my tabs/windows, the only thing I could see to improve it is a possibility to upload the session to my Gdrive/Dropbox.

It will be very useful,  If you want some idea  Tab Sessions manager is open source: https://github.com/sienori/Tab-Session-Manager and maybe it can inspire you.

Also on the implementation of GDrive/Dropbox to automatically save/sync session:: 

Stylus also use GoogleDrive and is open source so you can look at the code to see their implementation: https://github.com/openstyles/stylus

Also to save the session don't use bookmarks but indexDB.
