Dearest Fae Family and Friends,
Our 11th Annual Queer Shaman's
Gathering is a mere four (4) weeks away! ZMS is like a hive, all of the
busy bees buzzing about, and honey, the honey is sweet! We thought you
might like an update on happenings and such.
Many folks have been visiting us this season, familiar and new. So
many of our visitors are arriving with the intention of contributing in
whatever way they can to the multitude of building and maintenance
projects going on in and around ZMS. We say "Thank You All!"
Tea Rooms has just received an overdue facelift and structural
mudding! She also features brand new colors, and the back door is open
once again - you know how we LOVE that! The newly opened space in Tea
Rooms North is a gorgeous common space for congregating, card reading,
heart circles, you name it. And she even has gorgeous new colored glass
bottle windows! BIG kisses to Cary Cahill for taking the lead on Tea
Rooms, and working that building with the utmost love and pride.
All of our buildings need some work on the roofing and insulation;
NOT a small task, but one that we feel we can handle with the right
skill-sets and guidance.
Juniper House, particularly, needs attention in both roof and structural support, as well as new and improved insulation.
We are digging the new Outhouse!
"Xenophilia" - an Old School Gallery Dance Party curated by Randy Greysage takes place Friday, July 15!
Bath House construction begins soon! Faeries are arriving in the coming days and weeks to erect the ZMS water temple!
Arts & Wellness Weekend in July (22 - 24) will focus intentions on the Bath House.
Trash pickup along BIA-135/County Road 48 this weekend!
Magical Sex Workshop Weekend from July 15 - 17, facilitated by Cyrwyn.
We are participating in Gallup Pride on July 30, an event in her 3rd
year, and we are preparing food on that day for the Queer Women of
Color Film Festival to coincide with Pride activities.
Clown Camp
will take place at Raven's Wing in Candy Kitchen, facilitated by
Vanguard Balance Aug. 3 - 5, culminating with Rattlesnake Lounge on
Saturday, Aug. 6!
11th Annual Queer Shaman's Gathering begins Aug. 12 (coincides w/ Perseid Meteor Shower), and continues through Aug. 21!
Also
beginning Aug. 12, and running during much of the Gathering (ends Aug.
19), Old School Gallery presents "Marriage of the Moon and Jaguar", an
exhibit of 50 paintings by our very own Huilo Marvavilla. Opening Night
will feature a reception that includes a 40-minute documentary, "Tales
of a Lunar Wizard: Dancing From Within the Void," described as "a
docudrama, faerie film that tells the story of my shamanic artworks, and
will inspire artists of all kinds."
Whew! What an ambitious twirl!
Thankfully, we are witnessing
one another, we are mirroring one another, and we are holding one
another. As you, Dear Reader, know all too well, ZMS is a magickal
multi-verse of a place that brings out all of the inner work that we as
humans in shaman form (or shamans in various forms) need to see as it
reveals itself. We have come together and collectively visioned all of
us in an harmonious space of workshare and respect. Thank you all for
your support, your prayers, your blessings.
Please note we encourage everyone to let us know as they do about
arrival details. Rides for the upcoming gathering are a bit on the
expensive side ($80 for trips to/from ABQ airport). Look for an
upcoming "ShamGath Rideshare" Google Group! Registration for Shaman's
Gathering can happen by replying to this e-mail missive!
Also, our indoor space is packed to the rafters, so please bring
tents and sleeping bags. The weather is divoon! If you'd like to
contribute via action that doesn't necessitate bodily presence, we can
certainly use more tents to house all of the workers!
Other significant contributions could appear in the form of Medical
Kit supplies (snake bite kits are always welcome), spices and/or dried
goods for Kitchen, tools, magazines/books, paper supplies, shower and
Bath House supplies (!), art supplies, coffee beans, or plain old $.
One could click on
http://zms.org/joinsupport.html and contribute in that way.
So looking forward to seeing you all in the swirl! Come join us for
a soak! And, don't forget - we are in The Year Of The Clown!
Blessed Be,
