Come paint Stacy-Jane IV

Hi guys,

 

Well, time has certainly flown. After 18 months of thinking about it, 6 months of talking about it, and 3 months of preparing for it, we are only a handful of days away from the start line of our trans-continental road trip from England to Mongolia.

 

This is just a quick reminder of the important dates coming up...

 

Thursday July 19: our little lady, Stacy-Jane IV, needs a make over before she hits the road on Saturday. We hope everyone in London can come down to The Falcon, Clapham North, to help us out with the task. We will have a few buckets of paint, so let your creative side come out with a blue suzuki as your canvas. If you have any spare paint or paint brushes lying around please bring them, and if you have any left over euros or US dollars you don't need, or anything left on our wishlist, feel free to bring them along too. Obviously being a pub you don't need to paint if you don't want - there's plenty of beer and wine to be drunk instead if you prefer! Closest tube: Clapham North. Closest mainline: Clapham High Street. (nb: check your email or call me Thursday afternoon in case the venue is changed - we will be keeping it local to SW4 though)

 

Saturday July 21: The big event. Almost all of the 200 sh*!boxes will be lined up in Hyde Park for your amusement before making the mad dash to Prague checkpoint for Sunday night - if they even make it that far! Come along and check out the rest of the lemons we will be up against in the rally and listen to some traditional Mongolian folk music. We leave at 1:00pm, so try and make it from 11:00am to get the most out of the day. We will be along the Bayswater Road side, near the Marble Arch corner. Closest tubes: Marble Arch, Hyde Park Corner.

 

The website has been updated with additional photos, the Special Thanks is a bit more up to date and we have added a blog entry. There will be more to come over the next few days so watch this space. And don't forget, it's not too late to help out the charities we are raising money for, it's not too late to donate money directly to us or become a sponsor, it's not to late to help us out with things from our Wish List, and of course it's never too late to sign our guest book.
