Mongol Rally - only 10 days to go!!

Hi all,

 

With only 10 days to go until we set off on the rally, we just wanted to send a quick reminder that we will be having a Paint The Car night on Thursday July 19th, somewhere easily accessible from London. Further details are to come, but please keep this date free for a few drinks and hopefully a BBQ, all while painting our car with whatever our imagination allows for.

 

The big send off is going to be on July 21 from Hyde Park in London. The official exodus starts at 13:00, so we hope to see you there from mid-morning onwards. For those in London who may be interested in participating in next year's Mongol Rally, or who just feel like helping out the race organisers a little, should read the email below.

	Hello folks, There's less than two weeks to go until the start of the mighty 2007 Mongol Rally! Here are some details about this year's start and also a call for volunteer marshals at the start that could see you bagging a guaranteed spot on next year's rally! The Launch! Saturday 21st July North Carriage Drive, Hyde Park Start: Teams in place by 11am Speeches: 12 Noon Mass departure: 13:00 – 13:30 It's going to be an awesome day… If you are interested in taking part in 2008 we'll soon be releasing some details about the sign up process via the mailing list. In the meantime though, we are looking for safety marshals for the Hyde Park launch on Saturday 21st July. To thank you for your time we'd be happy to offer a guaranteed spot on the 2008 rally at the end of the day. The demand for places this year was incredible, so this is one way we can offer those who are already planning next year a way of getting involved, helping out, and securing an early place. It also means the safety marshals all know the event and what it's all about and will be well placed to make the day a success. If you are available on the 21st at the times below, all you need to do is send us an email at in...@mongolrally.com expressing your interest with 'Marshal' in the subject line. It's possible that we will receive more replies than the number of marshals we need so let us know if you're interested. Once we've confirmed with you, we'll be in touch with more details. Here are the brief details, if you have any questions please let me know. Start: 08:45 – Briefing and familiarisation End: 14:00 – After the teams have departed and the public have safely dispersed from the site Duties: General marshalling duties to ensure a safe and successful day, from marshalling the stage area, to the exits and entrance, parking the cars and general crowd safety. We are also looking for Head Marshals to head up each group of marshals so if you're interested in being a Head Marshal on the day, please include this when you reply with your interest.
