Hi all,
After four border crossings, many wrong turns, random mechanical issues, ditching three spare tires to lighten the load on our car, a mammoth 36 hours on the road, and only 3 hours sleep pulled over on the side of highway, we have finally hit the first "checkpoint": Prague in the Czech Republic. We are taking it a little easy today, and plan on passing through to Poland tonight and Ukraine on Wednesday night. We hit Russia on Monday morning and will be meeting up with a convoy of around 3 other cars going a similar direction to us for the stretch into Kazakhstan mid next week.
If you are keen to map our progress check the link from
www.teamtouchy.com regularly. We will be texting in our location with a short message every day or two and it will show our location on a google map. Anyone in the UK can also receive a copy of the text by signing up to a text service, but I don't have those details on me right now. I'll get them out in the next day or two.
Thanks to everyone who came along to the launch on Saturday. It was great to see you all. Could everyone please email me the high resolution photos they took as the Sydney Daily Telegraph is looking to do a story on us. You too may be famous :)
Cheers
Dan Vito and Steve O
p.s. Remember, it's not too late to donate to our charities. It's a quick online process and the cash goes directly to the charities. Check the website for more details.
