It was great to see everyone last weekend. No matter what the speed (and pain of course) I am glad to have done my #5.
I checked with the doctor regarding my foot and am told I have plantar fasciitis. I would encourage you all to learn a little about it and take steps to avoid it. I went by fleet feet and picked up shoe inserts, flip flops, rolling ball (for calf stretching) and the strassburg sock for nighttime wear. I have been educated about this in the last few days and am attacking the problem hard. I hope to start hitting the gym in a few days – not sure about running though.
Pravin please e-mail me your address. Thanks

Just thought to share this...
I bought a bumper sticker in the convention center. It reads something like this...

Hi Fellow Swasies,
It was good to meet you all after the race.
This was my 2nd CMM and my 3rd Half Marathon.
I did improve my time from previous races. I am happy from that perspective. But i am a bit disappointed that i didn't run better.
I did lot of preparation this year. But i cheated a bit by doing my long runs on flatter courses. And the new hills added to CMM didn't help me a bit.
Next year, I will try to cheat less during my practice runs.
Thanks for the beer and tea shirt.
Regards
Kishore

Hello,
I do not have a lot of experience in distance running. This year CMM is my 4th. But I realized how much practice pays. I had bad muscle, less practice adding up to worse finish (40 mins slower than my best time). I was upset when I finished the race but I am happy now because I am able to walk. Lessons learned, "never compromise training".
See you all in Murfreesboro 1/2 marathon event.
Thank you
Pravin

Hello there -
Country Music Marathon event has seen one of the hottest weather in its 10 year history. The temperature at start was in mid 60's and in an hour it reached 70. At 9:15 AM the temperature was 77 degree F and kept rising. The best part is the breeze and plenty of drinks served through out the course.
We had a great participation from Indian community in this years event. In my observation around 40 Indians participated in this years event out of which 15 are current swas friends and the rest are future swas friends. I recall the day 6 years ago when Nandhan and I finished the race and was disappointed that we were alone in the crowd of 22,000 people.
The race results will be posted to teamswas website this week. Including myself everyone's pace slowdown this year. Even though I practiced well this year, I was not prepared to handle the heat. Since I end up walking little over a mile towards the end I set a new personal record for slowest run, at 9:58 pace. My best timing in the first CMM participation was 8:04. I am determined to train in hot weather this summer.
Everyone, please share your experience.
The next team swas group practice in Nashville is scheduled for May 9th at 8:00 AM in Shelby Park, downtown. Looking forward to meet everyone there.
Keep swasing...
Thanigs
