A PATH OF HOPE FOR ALL LATINOS
Our story is that of a family who decided not to settle.
During 20 years in the corporate world, we enjoyed much satisfaction and enough money to live comfortably. However, the more we advanced in our professional careers the less time we spent at home. I remember the countless nights I would come home when my little girl was already asleep and I would ask myself, “Is this even worth it?”
It wasn’t until we decided to move out of our country and resign from my corporate job, I fully realized we were building our lives based on the wrong model. There had to be a better way to earn the money necessary for both our present and our future than to give our entire life to our jobs! But, what was it?
By the time Nu Skin came into our lives, we had reached the conclusion we would not settle for the first opportunity to arise. We were willing to start from scratch, if necessary, to achieve the proper balance between family and work. We had put together a demanding list of requirements for the ideal business opportunity, which, among other things, included time and location flexibility, low investment costs, high potential, an honorable business partner, etc. In the end, Nu Skin was the only company which met our requirements.
Making a fresh start in a new country wasn’t easy. We had to take it slow while getting established and learning this new business. Almost all of our contacts were ‘cold’ contacts…but it was this experience which allowed us to get to know and value the excellent business partner Nu Skin is. To us, this company has been an exemplar to follow when it comes to focus, discipline and excellence.
As immigrants we could have spent years trying a variety of productive activities before finding one adequate for our needs. We are grateful to have found Nu Skin before leaving our country, Venezuela, because we wasted no time. From the moment we arrived in the US, we were able to focus on this path and advance in the building up of our new business venture.
We began to experience growth in 2010 when our group adopted a new duplication model. This model gave us the structure to lay out a clear business plan and provide support to our organization. Our immediate commitment was to the Latin Market. We’d come to understand it wasn’t about us anymore. Rather, it was about working as a team—hand-in-hand with other leaders—to bring other Latino families hope, financial opportunity, and ultimately, the fulfillment of their dreams! We love to conduct video conferences and instructional events in collaboration with other Latino leaders. We have a great vision of how far we can get when working as a team.
In August of last year, during the Latino event in Fort Lauderdale –and in front of the entire audience– we made the commitment to become Blue Diamond by August of this year and to help our organization to achieve similar or bigger goals. In November of 2010, in the path to our main goal, we attended the Ruby Trip, and now, as Emerald Executives we feel even more empowered to keep moving forward.
We are no longer alone. We’re walking this path of hope holding hands with many others. Every day we meet wonderful people. The support of our sponsors and the company is ever-present. Ultimately, we have the conviction with our partner, Nu Skin, we’re walking the path towards our “American Dream”, and we’re determined to make it!
