All Things Adirondack Rail Trail

Saturday, June 20 is Adirondack Rail Trail Community Day, so we're celebrating by making this Gearzette issue all about the wonder that is 34-miles of vehicle-free bicycling bliss, 100% of which is now fully open for you to pedal any way you like.

Which is exactly what Phil Brown did on Memorial Day weekend during a birding by bike ride. I saw him out there. He wrote about it. You can read about it below.

And now that we're diving into event season, the list is back starting with this weekend's Whiteface Uphill Race and next weekend's Black Fly Challenge. BikeADK will be at both. See you there.

Be Kind & Ride On,

Doug Haney, Bike Adirondacks

3 Ways to Ride the ADK Rail Trail

Whether you ride the entire trail in one 68-mile out-and-back go, book a Rail Trail Shuttle for a one-way tour, or section it on your own, the Adirondack Rail Trail is way more than a bucket list item.

Mix Up Your RT Ride

It’s hard to beat the Adirondack Rail Trail, but some people may want to add variety by traveling in a loop that incorporates the trail and local roads. Phil Brown writes about two of the best. It’s like getting two scoops of your favorite ice cream.
