request: make the [team-lessig-volunteers] google group visible or public

katie anderson confirmed this morning that the lessig volunteers who registered after the [team-lessig-volunteers] group was created are not being automatically added to that group, and that this is an issue for the tech team. there is currently no way (that i could find) to view, join, or request access to the national volunteer group. from what little i have gleaned, that group disseminates vital information that is rarely shared or mentioned in the state groups, such as weekly action items and information on the weekly volunteer calls.

are there any particular reasons why the [team-lessig-volunteers] group is private, when all the state groups are public?

can the backlog of volunteers and future registrations be easily or automatically added to the national volunteer group?

i suggest that the [team-lessig-volunteers] google group be made public.

alternately, i suggest an announcement be made to every state group with information about how to request access.
